  • Charley Schultz resident travel award, American Association of Orthodontists.

Following my graduation from Cork dental school in 2002, I have held a range of positions in private practice and teaching hospitals in the UK and Australia. I undertook specialist orthodontic residency training in Hong Kong from 2006-2009 and received a membership diploma in orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, in 2011. I then returned to the UK where I completed a PhD in orthodontics (cleft lip and palate) at the Centre for Craniofacial and Regenerative Biology in King’s College, London, in 2017.

Since 2011, I have been a registered specialist orthodontist in private practice in both the UK and Ireland. My work in both private and NHS practice as well as continuing my professional development through advanced level academic research, has allowed me to offer very experienced and skilled orthodontic treatments. My expertise spans the whole spectrum of treatment modalities, including conventional braces, discrete ceramics, lingual braces (Incognito and WIN systems) and invisible braces (Invisalign and Invisalign teen).

My ongoing research interests focus on craniofacial development as well as orthodontic clinical trials and materials and I maintains active links with King’s College and HKU.

My wife and I moved back to Dublin from London in 2016 with our three boys, two dogs (Belle - a rescue dog from HK, and Rudi our practice mascot), as well as several motorbikes, one of which I am attempting to restore.

Dr. Gerry Murray

Orthodontic Specialist

BDS (NUI), DDOrth RCPSG

Dr. Gerry Murray

Hallo, my name is Dr. Gerry Murray and I have been providing specialist orthodontic care to adults, teenagers and children in Glenageary since 1988. Attention to detail and commitment to highest professional standards have been the cornerstones of my treatments and I have always been proud to have excellent professional relationships with patients and colleagues alike.

After 30 years of full-time commitment to orthodontics, I am looking to gradually reduce my time spent in the practice in order to become a more full-time grandfather.

Orthodontic nurses

Sandra Rapple

Sandra Rapple

Hi, I’m Sandra. I have been an orthodontic nurse in this practice for the past 19 years and I still love what I do. I really enjoy meeting children, teenagers and their parents, as well as adult patients, supporting them through the orthodontic treatment. We have a fun team here and it’s a great place to work.

In my free time, I enjoy getting stuck in to all aspects of DIY and gardening and I’m a yoga and motorbike holiday nut too!

Amanda Prender

Amanda Prender

Hi! My name is Amanda, I became part of the team here in July 2018. So far, it has been a great experience and I really like working here. I love to see patients with their new smiles and support them along the way. I plan on going to the Dublin dental hospital to study dental nursing part time for a year to get my qualification!

Receptionists

Caroline Morris

Caroline Morris

Hi, I’m Caroline. After previously working as a Dental Nurse in a General Dental Practice, I started working with Dr. Murray at his orthodontic practice in Dun Laoghaire in 1984, before the practice relocated to Glenageary in 1989.

Although I ventured over to the UK for two years in the early 90’s, I returned and took up where I left off and have been here ever since as front of house receptionist. I really enjoy what I do and with the addition of Finn as the new principal orthodontist, we have a great team in place to help achieve fantastic smiles.

Deirdre Walker

Deirdre Walker

My name is Deirdre. I am one of the friendly faces at the front desk at SOP. I have been working as a dental nurse and receptionist for more than 20 years and really enjoy my work and working with such a lovely team.

Outside work, I am involved with the RDAI, which teaches special needs children to ride ponies. I also love hillwalking and “the Camino” is one of my favourite places to be.
