What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment method that uses a series of clear plastic aligners to straighten your teeth. This is in place of metal archwires, brackets and elastics which are used for traditional metal braces. Invisalign aligners are made from a clear medical grade plastic which is extremely discreet which means your child will be able to blend in at school, college or anywhere else.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign’s clear plastic aligners are custom-made to the shape of your child’s teeth using information we have received from the digital scans and impressions we take at the start of treatment. This ensures their aligners are a comfortable fit and extremely effective.
By the time they are teenagers, most adult teeth should have come through. However their jaw and facial bones are still developing which makes it the ideal time for corrective treatment. This means they will need to change their aligners about every two weeks – one of our orthodontists at The Specialist Orthodontic Practice can advise the best approach for them.
