Sleep
apnoea

No one likes to lose sleep. Unfortunately, for people suffering from sleep apnoea (and their partners) it is all too common! Loud snoring and regular morning fatigue could be signs that your poor sleep is the result of an underlying condition. Luckily, the team at SOP can help!

What is sleep apnoea?

Sleep apnoea, also known as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA), is caused when the muscles at the back of your throat relax too much and partially obstruct your airway. When the airway gets blocked, it results in snoring and snorting as you gasp for breath.

Sleep apnoea results in poor quality sleep, and can even cause reduced oxygen flow to your vital organs and heart rhythm issues. Because of this, it’s important to seek the advice of a medical professional if you suspect that you or your loved one suffers from sleep apnoea.
